NBG Networks LLC (“NBG Networks” OR “NBG”) operates several websites including nbgnetworks.com and multiple private clouds. It is NBG Networks’ policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites & services. This policy is supplemented and altered by Non-Disclosure agreements in place between NBG Networks and clients actively receiving services.
Like most website operators, NBG Networks collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. NBG Networks’ purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how NBG Networks’ visitors use its website. From time to time, NBG Networks may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the services we provide. For instance: how many breaches we encountered in 2011 and what sort of exploits the attackers utilized. This information is not personally or corporately identifying. NBG Networks will never discuss the specifics of any engagement under any circumstances.
NBG Networks also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on NBG Networks blogs. NBG Networks only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Certain visitors to NBG Networks’ website choose to interact with NBG Networks in ways that require NBG to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that NBG gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who post comments to NBG blogs to use a real email address and name. Those who engage in transactions with NBG Networks by purchasing a service or product are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, NBG Networks collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with NBG Networks. NBG does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities and successfully purchasing services.
NBG Networks may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites and users of it’s services. For instance, NBG may monitor the most popular blog posts, NBG Networks may display this information publicly or provide it to others. NBG Networks will also collect aggregated report information to benefit the security community. However, NBG Networks does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
